In asensational incident in Basishtha Chariali, a police officer lost control ofhis vehicle while allegedly driving drunk and hit a group of people in the areaon Wednesday evening.

OneBolbom devotee with serious injuries has been admitted to a nearby hospital. Thepolice officer was driving a police vehicle at the time. The police vehicle wasa Bolero with the registration No. AS-01-HC-4066.

Thoughthe locals gheraoed the vehicle, the drunk police officer managed to escapefrom the scene. Later, they demanded action against the officer. However, theidentity of the officer has not yet been revealed by the police.

"We'llkeep investigating and when the time comes, he will be held responsible for hisactions," said a police officer.
