Dry day declared during Vijaya Dashami

Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup(M) Virendra Mittal  has declared October 19th, Vijaya Dashami as dry day across the district with a view to maintain public peace and tranquility and to prevent any untoward incident related to consumption of liquor during the immersion day of Durga Puja.

Aimed at maintaining the peaceful environment, the use or sale of liquor in all local liquor shops, imported liquor shops, warehouses and beer shops has been prohibited on the aforementioned date.

All bonded warehouse, IMFL shops, bars, hotels, clubs and outstill shops shall remain closed on the above mentioned date.

Violation of the order will attract appropriate legal punishment.
