Excise department conducts raid against illicit liquor in Azara

The highly tragic incident that has took place in recent time as more than 180 people died by consuming spurious sulai (hooch) in Golaghat have not given a lesson to the people who are still consuming it.

In various parts of the state this hooch business are still in demand. Kamrup (M) Exercise Department conducted a raid at Palashbari Puran Karipara and in Mirja market on Thursday. The raid was conducted together with Mirja, Chaygaon, Boko and Palasbari Excise department. The team was headed by Satish Barman, and the whole mission was successful in destroying local wine industry.

Around 250 liter sulai were destroyed along with huge amount of utensils used for making sulai.

These industries according to local people had affected the whole area.

According to reports there are three- four Govt schools near the area where excise department have raided.
