Gohpur reels under flood

The incessant rain of Monday night created havoc in Gohpur Sub division. The rise in water level of the Brahmajan river have breached the river embankment and submerge many villages of Gohpur including villages of Nalinibari, Kekurigaon Panchayat.

The water has washed away PWD roads along with its flow. The overflowing water has inundated villages nearby, affecting numerous families of the region. There have been a scarcity of food and drinking water in the flood affected villages. The people residing in the  riverine  areas have been affected largely by the flood.

Earlier, on September a  flash flood caused  due to an incomplete embankment created havoc in Gohpur.The Chatrang River of Gohpur crossed the danger level  and flooded many places of the Sub Division.The flood water has also submerged  the NH15.
