Guwahati to host WC Qualifier between India & Oman

Guwahati is set to host the first qualifying match of India for the FIFA World Cup 2022 against Oman on September 5. Earlier, it was reported that the Assam Football Association (AFA) expressed its interest in hosting the first qualifying.

The match will be played at the Indira Gandhi AthleticStadium in Sarusajai.

India's record against Oman in the past has not beenfavourable, having lost four, drawn thrice and won on just one occasion. Thelast meeting between these two nations was back in December 2018, which endedin a 0-0 draw.
