Himanta Blames Morigaon MLA For undeveloped Constituency

Pratidin Bureau

Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma blamed Morigaon MLA Ramakanta Deuri for not being developed despite the funds released by the government for developmental work in the district.

The finance minister while asked by Pratidintime reporter the reason behind the incomplete work in the district, Sarma said that this question should be asked to Deuri and that the MLA will give the answer. Sarma said, "I have released funds for the development work and even laid the foundation stone to construct the drains. The contractor hails from Morigaon and the local MLA is silent on this issue and therefore, he should answer why the work remains incomplete."

He furtherstated that they will be happy if the work would be completed. "The otherdistricts have developed and we will be happy if Morigaon will also develop. Thisshould be looked after by the MLA," said Himanta.
