Himanta should be arrested: Ripun Bora

Assam Congress president RipunBora on Wednesday said that Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shouldbe put behind the bars. His remarks came after Minister Sarma had claimed thatthe Citizenship (Amendment) Bill will be once again tabled in the parliament inDecember.

"Himanta should be arrested for being irresponsible and making communal statements," Bora said in Hailakandi, adding, "He made communal remarks recently in Barak Valley regarding detention camps, which is a big statement to be made by a lawmaker."

On the other hand, speaking aboutthe CAB, Bora termed it as a lollipop by the government to fool people. "CAB isa lollipop by the government to fool the people of Assam. The government willnot provide land rights or jobs to the people after implementing CAB," saidBora.
