Jayanta Baruah to get ‘Sangbad Surjya’ award

One of the socio-cultural organizations of the state 'Sanskritik Mahasabha Assam' will confer 'Sangbad Surjya' award to Jayanta Baruah (Owner of 'Sadin-Pratidin group').

In a statement, Mahasabha told that "The prestigious award will be presented at a special function, which will be held on January 4 and 5 in Sivasagar.

Mahasabha lauded Jayanta Baruah's contribution towards promoting impartial, bold and responsible journalism in the state and said that the Sadin-Pratidin Group through its newspapers and television channel has successfully brought important issues into public domain and acted as voice of the people.

Baruah has been chosen as a recognition to his exemplary service to the field of journalism.
