With just few hours left for the winter session ofParliament to commence in New Delhi, the debate over the contentious CAB(Citizenship Amendment Bill) has gained momentum.

Meanwhile, Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) Chief AkhilGogoi exhorted the people to come out en masse on the streets to protestagainst the Bill as there was a possibility of it being placed in theparliament.

"The entire region will be worst affected by the CAB"; Gogoidemands centre to exclude the North-East from the purview of the Citizenship(Amendment) Bill.

KMSS would create awareness to the common people about the ill effect of the Bill.  KMSS has proposed to launch a movement to create awareness against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) 2016 starting November 18, 2019 in the state marking the beginning of the awareness campaign against CAB.

KMSS to hold another protest rally 'Raj Bhavan Chalo' on November22.

Even as the NDA-led BJP government is adamant about bringingin the CAB in the Parliament, state political party-cum-NDA's ally Asom GanaParishad is silent on the issue.

The people must oppose CAB as it was against the AssamAccord of 1985 for ensuring the constitutional protection of the indigenouspeople. With the Act, the definition of immigrants will get changed directlyaffecting the demography of Assam and the North east region : KMSS added.

KMSS affirmed that any attempt made by the union or stategovernment to impose any language on the indigenous people would not beaccepted.
