A massive fire broke out at Ambagan area in Kaliaborin the wee hours of Sunday that gutted more than 6 shops. Properties worth croresof rupees have been destroyed in the fire.

As per the locals, the fire broke out at one of theshops and later spread to the nearby shops. Four other shops were also damaged inthe fire.

Firefighters from Kaliabor and Samaguri reached the spot immediately after the incident and brought the fire under control. Though the actual reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained, the locals suspected that fire broke out due to an electric short circuit.
