Mixed reactions to Bharat Bandh in Guwahati

Pratidin Bureau

The 'Bharat Bandh', called by the Congress party to oppose the constatnt hike on fuel prices in the country, has received mixed reactions in Guwahati.

While most of the private commercial transport services have decided to keep their vehicles off the road, keeping a lot of commuters stranded on the road for hours, a number of private vehicles are plying smoothly across the city though.

Cab services like UBER and Ola cabs were minimal on the road while a number of other cab/taxi services offered their operations amid the Bharat Bandh.

However, most of the commercial establishments have started opening up their places to the people but a number of prominent schools in the city decided to keep their gates closed.

All major petrol pumps have been shut down across the city and have wholeheartedly supported the bandh.
