In a sensational incident, a mother and her daughter were hit and killed by a train in Dibrugarh on Tuesday evening. The crash happened in the area of Lakhi Nagar at around 8:30 PM.

The Intercity Express hit the woman and her daughter who were trying to cross the tracks at the time. They were identified as Lilima Hazarika (mother) and Nirarika Hazarika (daughter).

Meanwhile, police reached the spot immediately after the incident and said the deaths did not appear to be suspicious.
