Movement of Vehicles from Meghalaya to Assam Restricted

The Kamrup (M) district administration has banned the entry of any vehicles coming from Meghalaya to Assam. No vehicles will be allowed to enter Assam without any valid pass.

The district administration of Kamrup (M) has decided to ban entry and exit of vehicles to and fro from Meghalaya due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

However, the Government of Meghalaya had earlier restricted the movement of vehicles from Assam into Meghalaya in order to prevent any further spread of coronavirus pandemic.

Notably, Assam has seen an alarming increase in the number of positive cases and the total number of cases in the state now stands at 13336. The active cases in the state are 4988 while 8329 patients have recovered from the disease.

Meanwhile, the Kamrup (M) has witnessed highest number of cases with 4,458.

The district administration has also imposed a complete lockdown for two weeks to control the number of positive cases in the district.
