NRC: Headmaster held for providing fake certificate

A school headmaster was caught red-handed while taking bribe on Friday at Kharupetia for providing certificates to enroll names in the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

The headmaster has been identified as Abdul Hamid who is the headmaster of Baharbari Girls' Lower Primary School.

Allegedly the teacher has been taking Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 for providing fake certificates to register names in NRC.

Hamid handed over to the police by the local people. The local people have also demanded stern action against the headmaster.
