NRC | Memorandum with 25 Lakh signatures

The Assam Saseton Nagarik Manch has sought special monitoring by the President of India at the earliest to scan for aliens who might be involved in the updating process of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the State.

The delegation of Nagarik Manch alleged some infiltrators in Assam were trying to include their names in the NRC by misleading the officials concerned with fake documents.

Seeking intervention on that matter, the manch had submitted a memorandum to the President Kovind, which was signed by 25 lakh people in the state.

The Supreme Court fixed the deadline for publishing the final National Register of Citizens (NRC) for Assam to July 31.
