Police outpost set ablaze in Karimganj

A police outpost in Karimgunj  district of Assam was set ablaze on Friday by an angry mob following an incident of police's hooliganism.

The Nivia Police Outpost was set ablaze by the a angry mob after police resorted to lathi charge when a local resident captured a police officer named Nikhil Nath taking bribe on his mobile phone.

Later police open fired to control the angry mob. There has been no reports of causalities, however two people have been severely injured in the incident.

Reportedly, question papers of the Class 10 matriculation exam were also destroyed in the fire.
