A shocking incident took place at Taxi Mothadang in Sibsagar district on Sunday night.

Reportedly, under the influence of alcohol intoxicated son Khirod Hazarika allegedly burnt his mother Jugoda Hazarika.

After which, local residents rescued the woman. However, the woman suffered 90% burns, when people sent her to hospital.

The accused son was taken into custody by the Jaysagar police.

Police say that they suspect some internal issues in the family as the motive.

However, it would take a detailed probe to reveal the actual facts.
