Smuggled timber seized in Chirang

A team of Sidli Police in Chirang, seized two vehicles laden with illegal timber from Bamungaon-Garlabari road during a raid on Friday night.

Sources informed that the vehicles were allegedly transporting some timber logs illegally and the police sleuths suspect that all the logs were illegally cut from nearby forests and were being smuggled. However, the accused drivers and smugglers fled away from the spot.

The seized timber logs along with two vehicles were brought to Sidli Police. The seized timber logs are worth several lakhs of rupees.
