SPOs plan another protest

Pratidin Bureau

Special Police Officers (SPO)s, who had staged a massive protest at the Saraighat Bridge in the month of April, have planned to launch another protest. Expressing disappointment over the government, the SPOs had called for a press meet on Thursday.

The SPOs have threatened to stage protest during the Assembly session on September 25.

Speaking at the meeting, the SPOs have also threatened to kill self if their issues are not resolved during this Assembly  session.

"The government has done nothing except giving promises", alleged the SPOs adding "Now, 850 SPOs are without any work, who were promised to be employed by 2015".

The SPOs also claimed that the Home Department had promised to form an AISF Battalion to give us employment.

According to reports, DHD extremists were given employment in the police department after surrender. Citing this as an example the SPOs questioned that if extremists were given employment than why they are being left out.

They have further alleged that it is due to finance department's negligence that SPOs have not yet been permanently employed.
