Numerous stories are often missing from mainstream media, but we have tried to bring you an inspiring story from Assam's Udalguri district that reveals – an unsung blind activist fought for inclusive education for long.

30-year-old Sanjib Das, who is blind himself, had decided to set up a free school for the specially-abled children and over the past 1 year there has been a greater effort, backed up by some philanthropists, to integrate specially-abled children into mainstream education.

The school was founded in 2018. At present, there is a total of eighty-four students studying in the school. It may be mentioned that Sanjib had started a fundraising campaign for the school and had collected Rs. 1.5 lakh.

In addition to this, Gopal Das, a neighbour has donated 1.5bigha lands to join hand with the noble initiative.

In 2009, Sanjib had passed the CBSE Class-X board examinationwith flying colours. Later, he passed the HSSLC examination with 80 percentmarks.
