Zubeen Garg conferred with ‘Purushottam Das’ Award

The organising committee of Barpeta Chawalkhuwa Mahotsav has conferred Zubeen Garg with the 'Purushottam Das' Award Monday night.

Barpeta's worthy son Das was a pioneer of modern Assamese music, known for preservation, publicity and for spreading Assamese folk music, is a well-known name in the Assamese music industry as a composer, singer.

Speaking to Pratidin Time, Zubeen said, "I am overwhelmed on being conferred with the award" adding, "I would like extend my love, gratitude and best wishes to the people of Barpeta."

On being asked about his opinion on the ongoing election air, the singer replied, "I do not like elections."
