Ahmedabad: 452 Metal Items Operated From Man’s Stomach

In a strange incident, 452 metal items weighing almost4 kgs have been taken out from a man's tummy after doctors performed anoperation at a civil hospital in Ahmedabad.

The items that are found in his stomach are safetypins, nail-cutters, nuts and bolts as well as coins apart from others. Doctors operatedhis stomach after he complained of stomach ache.

The 28-year old man was suffering from a mentalillness who was admitted to the civil hospital from a mental institution afterhe complained of his stomach ache.

After having done the X-ray, doctors were surprised tosee the reports which detected metal items in his belly.

A team of four doctors immediately performed a surgeryon the man which took almost three hours and successfully recovered the metalitems.

Doctors said that the man might have eaten the metalitems since the past seven or eight months.

According to doctors, the man is suffering fromSchizophrenia and has been consuming the metal items after being instructed byanother person to do so. The doctors further said that it might be possiblethat the man is of the opinion that he supposed to eat the metal items as food.

Doctors confirmed that he is now stable and kept himunder observation.
