The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) released its theme for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019- 'Phir ek baar Modi sarkar' on Sunday. However, it has not yet released a manifesto. Launching the theme song, Union finance minister Arun Jaitley insinuated that this election will see a contest by PM Narendra Modi against the rest.

His party's campaign with the tag line of "Phir ek bar, Modi sarkar" (Modi government, once more) will centre on the Modi's five-year performance, including on the national security front, "honesty", and his ability to take big decisions among other issues, Jaitley told reporters, Phir se Kamal Khilate Hai [Let the lotus blossom again]". The video of the song includes screenshots of newspaper reports from the day after India carried out air strikes on Pakistan.
