The bills, alleged to be anti-farmer in nature, have attracted widespread protests from the farming community.

Now, Indian National Congress has reportedly decided to launch a nationwide agitation against the passage of two of these bills from September 24.

As reported by Hindustan Times, senior Congress leader K C Venugopal said that the party will also collect signatures from two crore farmers and poor people against the bills. The party will then submit a memorandum to President Ram Nath Kovind on the issue.

The decision for such a PAN-India protest was reportedly taken at a meeting of general secretaries of the party and in-charge of states on Monday. Uttar Pradesh general secretary Priyanka Vadra Gandhi also attended the meeting.
