Indian Cricket Team Receives Death Threat

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has received an anonymous email which stated that the Indian team who is currently in West Indies for a series is under threat of an imminent terror attack.

According to report, the PCB immediately forwardedthe email to the International Cricket Council (ICC). Report also states thatthe Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also received a copy of thesame within the next 24 hours.

The BCCI on Saturday last informed the Union HomeMinistry about the email and also alerted the Indian embassy in Antigua wherethe team is scheduled to play a Test against the Windies starting August 22.

An official of BCCI said that they have informedabout the email to the High Commission in Antigua and they have in turninformed the local government over there. "The security is being monitored andif necessary it will be beefed up adequately. As of now, they are still gettingthe same level of security," the official stated.

India won the T20 and ODI series against the Windies3-0 and 2-0 respectively. The two-match Test series will mark the beginning ofIndia's journey in the inaugural ICC World Test Championship.

Virat Kohli, however, said that the World TestChampionship is very exciting. "I think it's happening at the right time forTest cricket. I was excited about something of this sort and now it's coming tolife," said Kohli.
