Mumbai Citizens Complain of Foul Smell

Mumbaicitizens from several areas on Thursday night complained of foul smell.

Citizens arein a state of panic and started complaining to the fire brigade while some tookto Twitter to complain. Reports of the foul smell came in from Chembur,Ghatkopar, Tilak Nagar, Andheri, Kandivali, Kurla and several other suburbanareas.

According toa senior official from the disaster management cell said that the source of thesmell is yet to be identified and several fire engines have been sent tovarious areas and plants to inquire about the suspicious smell. The officialalso said that there is no confirmation from any of the gas agencies so far.

As per theofficial statement from Mahanagar Gas Limited, MGL has been receivingcomplaints of gas smell since late evening of Thursday night from various partsof Mumbai. "Our emergency teams have spread out to sites from where complaintshave been received. So far we have not come across any breach in our pipelinesystem which could result in leakage of gas," the statement said.
