Nobody can add you in WhatsApp groups without consent

Good news for the WhatsApp users, as they will nolonger have to feel agitated when strangers add them to random groups on the messagingplatform. WhatsApp has announced a new privacy update that gives the users morecontrol over group additions.

According to the company, the new privacy setting andinvite system allows the users to choose who adds them to a group. The userscan choose from three options: Everyone, My Contacts, or My Contacts Except.

The new feature is available under the Setting panelof the app under Account>Privacy>Groups. Once enabled, admins who are notable to add you to a group will be prompted to send a private invite through anindividual chat. The invitation will expire in three days if not accepted.
