Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh Dies At 64

Rajya Sabha MP and former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh passed away on Saturday.

Singh, 64, was ill for a very long time and was undergoing treatment in a Singapore hospital. A recent Hindustan Times report said he was in ICU and his family was by his side. Earlier, Singh had suffered kidney failure in 2013.

Earlier today, he had tweeted a tribute to freedom fighter and educationist Bal Gangadhar Tilak on his death anniversary and also wished Eid Al Adha to all his followers.

Amar Singh was a former leader Samajwadi Party at a time when the party moved to support the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government in 2008. He was removed from the party for being accused of anti-party activities.
