Apoorva Shukla Tiwari, the wife of Rohit Shekhar Tiwari has been arrested in connection with his murder on Wednesday. Rohit was the son of former CM of UP and Uttarakhand, late ND Tiwari.

According to police, Apoorva murdered Rohit on the intervening night of April 15-16 over a heated argument. Rohit was allegedly suffocated with a pillow, said a top police official. Notably, she is an advocate in the Supreme Court.

She initially tried to mislead the investigating team which detained her, but after three days of questioning, Apoorva admitted to have killed Rohit. Police further said that after executing the crime she destroyed the evidences within one-and-half hours.
