Triple Talaq Bill passed in LS

Amid uproarby the opposition, the Triple Talaq Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha onThursday evening. 303 members of the parliament voted in favour of the Bill,while only 8 members voted against it.

"Wemust ensure that Muslim women are part of the country's growth," said Union MinisterRavi Shankar Prasad, while opening the debate.

"As far as Triple Talaq Bill is concerned, Criminality Clause may be misused by the police and the government," said Congress MP K Suresh.

On the other hand, speaking about the triple talaq issue, BJP MP Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, "It actually is a dark mark on our society and should be abolished."
