UP Man Gets Electricity Bill of Rs. 128Cr

The electricity department of Uttar Pradesh has cutoff electricity supply in a man's home who has failed to pay the due of Rs. 128crore. Are you shocked? Yes, a man in a village in UP was charged an exorbitantelectricity bill of more than Rs. 128crore.

Shamim, who stays with his wife in Chamri village in Uttar Pradesh's Hapur around 80 km away from the national capital Delhi had approached the electricity department to rectify the error but was told by the officials to pay the bill.

According to news agency ANI, the amount printed onthe bill is Rs. 128,45,95,444 for a home connection of 2 kilowatt.

The man quoted by ANI said, "No one listens to ourpleas, how we will submit that amount? When we went to complain about it, wewere told that they won't resume our electricity connection unless we pay thebill."

The man also accused the electricity department ofhanding him over the bill of the entire city. He also said that he gets anaverage monthly bill of only about Rs. 700 or Rs. 800.

He said that he is running from pillar to post butno one is listening. It seems that the electricity department wants him to paythe bill of whole Hapur.

Meanwhile, his wife said that they only use fan andlight. How can the amount be so high? "We are poor. How we will pay such alarge amount?" said, Khairu Nisha.
