Ind vs Ban T20: Tamim withdraws from India tour

Bangladesh's most experienced opener Tamim Iqbal opted outof the upcoming India tour as his wife is expecting their second child. Thenational selectors have replaced Tamim with Imrul Kayes.

The 30-year-old opener is also nursing a rib injury and hadinformed the board about his unavailability in the T20 series. It is, however,still not clear if he is available for the Test series or not.

 "Tamim had informedus earlier that he would miss the second Test in Kolkata but now he will bewith his wife for the coming weeks," Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin was quoted.

India is hosting Bangladesh for a three-match T20 andtwo-match Test series starting on November 3. The Bangladesh cricketers, whowere on strike, called it off after a meeting with Bangladesh Cricket Board(BCB) officials, who accepted players' pay hike demands.

Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team for the upcoming T20I series as regular skipper Virat Kohli has been rested for the tour. What is also noteworthy is that Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube have been included in the side.

This comes as a huge blow to Bangladesh ahead of the three-match T20I series. The left-hand batter has played 204 ODIs, 58 Tests and 75 T20Is for Bangladesh so far and he has been a consistent performer for the Bangla Tigers.
