Nadal wins 12th French Open title

Pratidin Bureau

Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal has won his 12th French Open title after a hard-fought win over Dominic Thiem.

Both players started the match in fine form and traded breaks of serve to create a thrilling contest but Nadal came alive to win four games in a row and take the first set 6-3.

In the second set, the quality increased but after both players were holding serve comfortably, Thiem stunned Nadal with an excellent returning game to steal the set 7-5.

But that only appeared to rile up Nadal as he broke Thiem twice to race into a 5-1 lead in the third set and take it 6-1 to move within a set of the title.
