After defending champion Saina Nehwal, former winner Parupalli Kashyap has also won in his quarter-final match at the 83rd Senior National Badminton Championships 2018-19 in Guwahati on Friday.

Parupalli Kashyap defeated Bodhit Joshi in 21-18, 21-16 sets to reach the semis. He is the men's singles third seed and 2012 winner. Kashyap will face Asian junior champion Lakshya Sen in the semis. Notably, Lakshya was the runner-up at the Nationals in 2017.

Saina and Kashyap began their campaign on Thursday evening after they complained about the badminton courts at Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium in Guwahati on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Assam's Ashmita Chaliha will face off top seed PV Sindhu in Women Singles Semis this evening.
