TheAssam Cricket Association (ACA) is currently organising a three-day curatorworkshop to recruit coaches, physios and trainers for various age groups ofAssam Cricket Teams (Men & Women). Apart from current coach Syed ZakariaZuffri and former Assam player Subhrajit Saikia, several former internationalplayers, including Dinesh Mongia, Ajay Ratra, Sairaj Bahutule and Shiv Sunder Das haveapplied for the posts of head coach.

"Wehave received 54 applications for coach, 46 applications for physio and 33applications for trainer in Under-16, Under-19, Under-23 and seniorcategories," said a member of ACA.

It may be mentioned here that, in a major decision taken last year, the ACA had decided to not field any outstation player in the Assam team which they believed would give more opportunities to the locals. "Following the decision of not fielding any outstation players in the team, we are currently in search of senior as well as experienced cricketers to guide our teams," added the member of the team.

However, the ACA will announce the names of the selected coaches, and other staffs on June 15.
