Adobe develops AI to detect doctored photoshop images

Pratidin Bureau

At a time when doctored photoshopped images have been responsible for various ruckuses globally, Adobe has built a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) system that can spot the markers in images that have been manipulated.

The Photoshop creator has developed a counter to its own invention to help increase trust and authenticity in digital media.

With the help of AI, the system looks for three types of alteration which include cloning, splicing and removal.

The Photoshop developer is aware of its contribution to the creation of fake news images and is in line with Facebook and Google, which have stepped up their efforts to fight fake news.

According to reports, the new system can recognise inconsistencies in seconds but it has not been perfected yet.
