In a recent update, Facebook has decided to discontinue with the 'You are now connected on Messenger' alert after becoming friends with someone on the social media platform.

According to reports, the social media giant said that it is working to make these notifications more useful and send fewer of them.

It has informed that it will use machine learning to understand which user does not like the alerts and based on past behaviour will stop sending some of them.
