13 drug traffickers shot dead by Bangladesh Police

13 drug traffickers have been shot dead by Bangladesh Police and thousands arrested in an aggressive campaign against drug smuggling.

The police informed that around 2,300 suspected drug traffickers and users had been arrested in raids since early May; drugs worth around 2.5 million dollars had been seized.

It may be mentioned here that the authorities had warned traffickers to surrender last week.

Nine million yaba tablets were seized in less than three months in Bangladesh, officials informed. Nearly two million tablets were discovered in a single haul.
