Former Pak President Zardari Arrested

FormerPakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has been arrested on Monday by the country'stop anti-corruption body in a case involving fake bank accounts.

Zardari has been accused of operating fake bank accounts to transfer money out of Pakistan for which the National Accountability Bureau, the country's corruption watchdog had issued arrest warrants against him on June 10.

As reportedby a news agency, an NAB team accompanied by police entered the PPP co-chairman'shouse in F-8 sector after the Islamabad High Court rejected an applicationseeking extension in the pre-arrest bails of Zardari and his sister FaryalTalpur in the case.

However,Faryal has not been arrested so far.

Both Zardariand his sister were allegedly made transactions of Rs. 150 million throughalleged fake bank accounts. It has been reported further that the cases againstZardari are part of the investigation being conducted by NAB in pursuance of thePakistan Supreme Court's verdict in a case related to the money laundering ofbillions through fake accounts.
