Strong action may be taken against former Congress minister Gautam Roy and other senior leaders by the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC). The APCC will organise its extended executive meeting in presence of party’s national leader Harish Rawat on Saturday in Guwahati.
It may be mentioned here that former minister Gautam Roy had celebrated the victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the recently declared Lok Sabha elections. As per sources, the APCC may take the decision of suspending Roy from the party during its meeting.
Besides Roy, action may also be taken against former MP Dwijen Sharma, Romen Borthakur and youth leader of the party Partha Pratim Bora for allegedly sabotaging party’s prospects in the recently held Lok Sabha elections.
