AssamPradesh Congress Committee's President Ripun Bora addressing the media gave hisremarks on the India China border tensions.
According to Bora, the government hasn't responded to the situation strictly in the manner a central government should have, they're scared. He said, "The Prime Minister has kept the public in the dark, the reality of the situation has not been revealed yet".
Bora in connection to the 20 soldiers who lost their lives said, "The prime minister's comment that none entered the Indian Territory is a humiliating remark for the martyrs". He noted that there is a contradiction in what PM Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had said.
Ultimately,the Prime Minister has failed to protect the country, Bora stressed.
Referring to the situation in Nepal, Bora said, "The Nepal government claims Indian Territory's three regions as theirs", and added, "Why haven't the government taken any constructive steps in this regard?"
Taking a jibe at PM Modi, he said, wearing the Assamese Gamucha doesn't necessarily mean he loves Assam. The Garib Kalyan Rozgar Scheme doesn't include Assam. The Bharatiya Janat Party has always deprived Assam of the necessary developments, he alleged. Assam is undergoing a financial crisis. The government should reveal the financial status of the State, he emphasised.
Questioning the Centre and State government, he said, Gaurav Gogoi and Ajay Maken were quarantined in Manipur but, "Why weren't Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma quarantined when they visited Manipur on Sunday? Why wasn't union minister Dharmendra Pradhan quarantined when he visited Assam?"
The amount for tollgates has increased, however, there are hardly any financial resources for the development of the state, said APCC president, and added, "Why hasn't CM Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Sarma demanded allocation of financial resources?"
