The Assam BJP on Wednesday finalisedcandidates' panel for three Legislative Assembly constituencies of Assam whichwill go to bypolls on October 21. The party is yet to shortlist the panel ofcandidates for the Jania constituency.
The election committee of theState BJP held a meeting in Guwahati and finalised candidates' panel for theSonari, Rangapara and Ratabari constituencies. The shortlisted candidates forSonari are – Swakhar Jyoti Gogoi, Nabanita Handique and Anup Singh Rajpurohit.For Rangapara, the shortlisted candidates are – Rajen Borthakur, KeshabUpadhyay and Bata Surang and the shortlisted candidates for Ratabari are –Jaydev Das, Vijay Malakar and Sunil Bil.
The meeting was attended by CM SarbanandaSonowal, Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dassand other senior leaders of the party. The committee will forward the names ofthe shortlisted candidates to the national committee.
