A group ofyouths from Assam have been allegedly attacked by locals in Tamil Nadu's BasantaNagar.
The victims, hailing from Charaideo, were held captive inside a room in thesouthern state.
It hasbeen alleged that the attackers demanded a significant amount of ransom fromthe victims, in lieu of freeing them.
The youthsfrom Assam took to social media seeking help from the government of Assam.
Accordingto reports, these youths, who fell prey to the assault, went looking for jobsin Tamil Nadu.
