Assam’s Dance Group Rescued in Bihar

A 11-member dance group from Assam, including nine girls and two boys was rescued in Bihar by Bihar police. The team was taken by one Sunita Das, former student of Narengi College to Bihar saying that they will be able to perform in a programme at Masrat located in Chhapra city under Saran district.

However, a team of Guwahati police has left for Bihar to bring back the dance troupe.

Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, Deepak Kumar while addressing a press conference on Tuesday said that the dance group was first taken to Siliguri in West Bengal and later they have been taken to Chhapra for a performance. After reaching Chhapra, the dance troupe was asked to perform on Bhojpuri songs by the organizers but they refused. After the team refused to perform, a fight took place between the dancers and the organizers over the issue, Kumar said.

The police commissioner further informed that the dancers got scared and were stranded in Bihar for three days and the Chhapra police rescued them on Tuesday and immediately informed Guwahati police.

Moreover, it has come to know that a student of Narengi College was also present at the dance group and she informed the college authorities after which the college authorities informed the police. It has been alleged that one Sunita Das has taken them saying that they will be able to perform in Bihar.
