Assam’s Dance Group Rescued in Bihar

A 11-member dance group from Assam, including ninegirls and two boys was rescued in Bihar by Bihar police. The team was taken byone Sunita Das, former student of Narengi College to Bihar saying that theywill be able to perform in a programme at Masrat located in Chhapra city underSaran district.

However, a team of Guwahati police has left forBihar to bring back the dance troupe.

Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, Deepak Kumar whileaddressing a press conference on Tuesday said that the dance group was firsttaken to Siliguri in West Bengal and later they have been taken to Chhapra fora performance. After reaching Chhapra, the dance troupe was asked to perform onBhojpuri songs by the organizers but they refused. After the team refused toperform, a fight took place between the dancers and the organizers over theissue, Kumar said.

The police commissioner further informed that thedancers got scared and were stranded in Bihar for three days and the Chhaprapolice rescued them on Tuesday and immediately informed Guwahati police.

Moreover, it has come to know that a student ofNarengi College was also present at the dance group and she informed thecollege authorities after which the college authorities informed the police. Ithas been alleged that one Sunita Das has taken them saying that they will beable to perform in Bihar.
