In one of the most exciting stories of the recent times, an image being circulated on social media claiming that All Tai Ahom Students’ Union (ATASU) former Chief Adviser Aswini Kumar Chetia, attended RSS training programme in Nagpur. Chetia- who was a senior leader of the anti CAB protest movement and was often seen with KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi.
The issue came to light after a picture, in which former ATASU leader can be seen donning the Sangh outfit –white shirt tucked into a baggy khaki shorts with black cap and black shoes on– went viral on various social media platforms.
It may be mentioned that few years back, Chetia along with his mates “purified” Kareng Ghar with the help of priests after it was allegedly defiled by volunteers of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
The then-student leader urged the RSS to refrain from sowing seeds of hatred and dividing people in the name of religion.
Assam witnessed a totally different scenario during the Lok Sabha election. Especially, those who once stood for the interests of the society have now surrendered to the ones who have been marching for Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).
