Assam Government's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has prohibited the sale of brand packaged drinking water Bailley with immediate effect. The ban will remain in force for 30 days in the state.
The ban has been imposed under the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
The FDA has imposed the ban on Bailley as test reports of samples revealed the presence of microbial contaminants in Bailley packaged drinking water. Fluoride content was also found higher than the prescribed limit.
