Bandh turns violent in some parts of Assam

The supporters of the 24 hours Assam bandh called by the All Assam Bengali Youth Students' Federation (AABYSF) have created chaos in some parts of Assam. Protestors attack an ASTC bus in Samaguri.

This incident of violence has taken place in Gotonga, where protestors had broken glasses of the bus.

Highway has been blocked, by the bandh supporters, which has led to many teachers, who had come for Gunotsav, being trapped on the road.

Samaguri administration is also reportedly unable to control the situation.

Reports of violence have also come in from Mayong's Jhargaon, where supporters of the bandh have attacked an auto.

In a similar note, a mini truck was also attacked in Kaliabor. Stones were pelted on a vehicle carrying passengers, going for a wedding, in Barpeta Road's Simaluguri. Similar instances also took place in Guwahati.

It may be noted that the government tried all possible means to dismiss the Assam Bandh called on October 29. Will the government take action against those involved in today's violence?
