Bengali organizations condemn ‘Chalo Paltai Mission 2021’

TheAll Asom Bengali Youth Students' Federation, Brihattar Assam-Bangali UnnayanSamiti, Swami Vivekananda Yuba Samiti, Swahid Kanaklata Mahila Unnayan Samitiand RCCF Bengali Tiger Federation, Assam state committee today said that theharassment made on the Hindu Bengali in the name of National Register ofCitizens (NRC) is very unfortunate.

Addressinga press conference at New Delhi, the Bengali organizations said that it isquite unfortunate that poverty-stricken Hindu Bengalis are being harassed inthe name of claims and objections in NRC by some vested circles. "If someone isbeing harassed in the name of updation of NRC then it is the Hindu Bengalis andwe condemned the NRC authorities for which the Hindu Bengalis are being harassed,"said Kamal Chowdhary, President of All Asom Bengali Youth Students' Federation.

Chowdharyfurther stated that they have always supported the process of NRC to make thestate of Assam and country free from illegal immigrants but now it seems thatthe NRC authorities are harassing the Hindu Bengalis in the name of claims andobjections in the NRC.

Healso stated that they were hopeful that the Supreme Court's verdict will givethem relief but the people who have come before 1971 have also been harassed.

TheBengali organizations have also condemned the 'Mission Chalo Paltai 2021' startedby one Garga Chatterjee of West Bengal.
