A day after the first phase of Lok Sabha Election, Tezpur Congress candidate MGVK Bhanu has been appointed as the election in-charge of Jalukbari assembly. Jalukbari is the assembly constituency of Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Former Assam CM and the chairman of Campaign Committee of APCC, Tarun Gogoi on Friday appointed Bhanu as the party’s election in-charge of Jalukbari. Bhanu has been given the charge for the Jalukbari assembly segment under Guwahati Parliamentary Constituency for the 3rd phase of parliamentary election.
Earlier, Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took part in various election rallies in Tezpur for BJP candidate and Bhanu’s primary opponent Pallab Lochan Das. Himanta and Pallab also took dig at Bhanu during different election rallies for being an ‘outsider’ and having a name that might be difficult for the common Assamese person to pronounce or remember.
