Assam BJP minority wing coordinator Taufik Rahman on Saturday criticised Jayanta Malla Baruah over latter's remark regarding minorities living in the State.
Unhappy with Baruah's remark, Taufik Rahman said that Jayanta Malla Baruah's that kind of remark hurt the sentiment of people towards the party.
"This kind of remark will affect the party in the forthcoming panchayat election," said Rahman and added that the party has not authorised him to make such comments.
Meanwhile, Assam State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass also reacted to Jayanta Malla Baruah's comment. Dass went on to say that he would quit BJP if communalism increases in the party.
Earlier, Ex-MLA Jayanta Malla Baruah had said that people who wears Lungi and skull cap are the enemies of BJP.
